Ranger Lady Bulldog Softball Update - April 16
Ranger Lady Bulldogs hosted Cross Plains Monday night in district softball. Ranger came away with 4-1 win. Ranger got on the board with a run in the bottom of the 1st inning to take the lead 1-0. Cross Plains tied the score at 1 when they scored in the top of the 4th inning. Ranger came back in the bottom of the 5th inning with 3 runs to make the score 4-1 which the held until the end. This was one of the best defensive games Ranger has played this year, led by Erin Mayes at shortstop and the pitching of Helene Braim. On offense Chanda Leal had 3 hit and scored 2 runs and Mayes had 3 hits and a run. This put Ranger and Cross Plains in a tie for third place with one game left in district. On Friday Ranger will travel to Deleon and Cross Plains will play Gorman. If the two teams are still tied after Friday games they will play a game on Saturday at 2:00 in Cisco to see who will go to the playoffs as the third place team.
