Lady Mavs Upset Comanche for Bi-District Title

A strong defensive 2nd half enabled the Lady Mavs to leave Gorman with a 44-31 bi-district championship victory for the 2nd straight year over the District 7 champion Comanche Maidens.  Down 21-19 at the half, Hailee Stacy and and Kennedy Cecil helped the Lady Mavs outscore the Maidens, 16-6 in the third quarter.  Lea Thompson performed the pick and roll beautifully, scoring points and getting to the free throw line in the fourth quarter.  The Lady Mavs defense didn't allow one shot to be made from the field in the final quarter.  The Area round will be most likely against Jim Ned Thursday evening in Anson.  Pick up a paper Thursday for more pics and details.
