A Stinky Tail of Romance

Although Valentine’s is over, love is still in the air. I’m talking about the nauseating musk “perfume” sprayed by skunks. With February marking the beginning of the skunk breeding season, we can expect several more weeks of pungent odors to be in the air as these animals wander around in search of romantic trysts. Amorous skunks can travel up to 5 miles a night during mating season, so it’s not surprising that during their search for love, their paths cross with humans.
