(Report on the fire near Gorman Wednesday, Aug. 19) These are My Heroes

I started a fire in a barrel about 8 am Wednesday, watched it burn all the way down till it wasn’t smoking, looked at it again at 11:30 am and it looked like it was out.

Went to lunch and came bak and all the fire department was there. I guess something exploded in the barrel.

The fire burned a building, two trailers and a truck and about ten acres.

The fire burned about 5 feet from my house on two sides. If it wasn’t for these men with the Volunteer Fire Department, I would not have a home today.

I am so thankful to these men. Its easy to get in a world where you thank you need no one to survive, but we all need each other in some way. I pray if these men with the fire dept. ever need me for anything that they will not hesitate to tell me.

I thank Jesus for all He does for me. I thank these men for what they did for me and I thank Jesus for these men.

They saved everything I’ve worked for and no words can thank them enough.

Thanks guys. Your wonderful.

Sincerely,

Jay Dee Burleson
