ROY THACKERSON, ‘FINGERLESS FIDDLER’ GRAND MARSHAL RANGER’S 2016 NIGHT-TIME LIGHTED CHRISTMAS PARADE

Roy Thackerson, a graduate of Cisco High School, started playing the guitar at the age of 5. When he was 6 years old, he lit a dynamite cap and lost the fingers on his left hand and the sight in his left eye. As a young boy, Roy once told his friends and family, “One day I’m going to play on the Grand Ole Opry.” Roy continued playing the guitar well into adulthood and entertained folks near and far.
