Lady Bulldogs Win Consolation In The Hamilton Tournament

Ellerbe averages 11 points for the 3 games

The Lady Bulldogs competed well in the Hamilton Tournament over the weekend despite playing bigger competition. The first round matchup was a strong 4A Gatesville team. The Lady Bulldogs lost, 37-79. Gatesville was very big in the paint with at least 3 girls over 6 foot. Erin Mayes led the Lady Bulldogs with 11 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals. Madilyn Ellerbe also had 11 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals. Skyi Rhyne had 8 points and 4 rebounds. The Lady Bulldogs then took on 3A Hillsboro in the 2nd round. They defeated the larger school, 51-42. Brittany Destro came off the bench and had a really good game. She scored 8 points, went 3/4 from the floor and 100% from the free throw line.
