Ronald "Ronnie" Smithwick

   Private memorial services will be held for Ronald “Ronnie” Smithwick of Eastland, Texas.  

   He passed away Monday, November 2, at Cross Country Nursing Home in Brownwood, Texas after a long battle with alzheimers. 

    Ronnie was born June 8, 1938 in Cherokee, Texas to Thurman and Lorene Smithwick.

   On May 1, 2004 he married Joyce McConnell in Hico, Texas.   He owned a auto parts store in Stephenville from 1971 to 1982.  He retired from Industrial Supply Company in Mineral Wells, Texas as purchasing manager in 2005.  He lived in Stephenville and Eastland.  Ronnie loved Cowboy Football and had a life- long love for horses.  He was a member of the Leon River Cowboy Church.

   Ronnie is survived by his wife Joyce Smithwick, his children; Randy and wife Donna Smithwick, Scotty and wife Suzanne Smithwick, George and wife Susan Smithwick, and Laura Adams, Levi Cagle considered to be like a  son.   He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 1 brother Walter and wife Carol Smithwick of Allen, Texas, and one sister Linda Thomas of Arvada, Colorado, and his beloved dog Tip.

   Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents Thurman and Lorene Smithwick.

   Heartland Funeral Home Early, Texas is in charge of arrangements.
