Robert Laird Obituary

Robert Laird, 77, of Abilene, joined his Heavenly Father March 31, 2015. Graveside Services were held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Oakwood Cemetery in Cisco, officiated by Reverend Benny Hagan and under the direction of Kimbrough Funeral Home of Cisco, TX.

Visitation with the family was  prior to service time, 9 A.M. to 11 A.M.

Robert was born November 15, 1937 in Cisco the son of Charlie Robert and Hester Rilla (VanCleave) Laird. He attended school in Cisco and Cisco Junior College. Robert married Lois LaVerne Lee on May 19, 1962 in Carbon, Texas. They made their home in Abilene where he worked as a Duplicating Operator for the Texas Department of Human Services. Robert was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years LaVerne, sons; Robert Slayton Laird and wife Beth of Tuscola; and Charles Bryan Laird and wife Ashley of Abilene. He has four sisters; Hazel Saub of Houston; Neta Thackerson of Monahans; Betty McClellan of Houston; and Mary Anderson of Abilene. Brothers surviving are L.D. Blount of Houston and Alton Laird and wife Gail of Big Spring. Grand children are Aprill and Zane Laird, Carissa Puls, Kyle and Bailey Belknap and Five Great Grandsons
