Onella was born to Marvin and Lula Williamson; she was the oldest of 2 girls.  She attended school in Pidcoke, TX until the Army took their land by eminent domain to build Fort Hood.  Her parents bought land in Lampasas but she stayed with an Aunt to graduate from Gatesville High School in 1941.  Onella also attended business school in Lampasas and went to work for the county agent there.

Her family had moved across the highway from a handsome young man named Willard Griffin and  Onella and Willard were married on March 21, 1946. After living in Lampasas, Bastrop, and Hamilton, they were offered a chance to move to Eastland.  They settled there permanently in 1955 and raised their family.  Onella was a seamstress, homemaker and a geneology buff.  After Willard’s retirement, they enjoyed many Bilbrey bus trips and Super Senior trips with the Methodist Church where they have been members since moving to Eastland.

Onella is survived by her husband of almost 69 years, Willard Griffin; son, Don and wife Jeanie of Eastland; daughter, Marcia and husband Lon of Freeport; 5 grandchildren: Phil Bitner, Melanie Stubblefield, Stephanie Siddall, Laurie Jones and Joshua Siddall and 6 great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sister Erma Lee Griffin of Lampasas and many nieces and nephews.
