Cisco- Mary E. (Barnes) Clifton, age 65, passed from this life Friday, September 18, 2015 at the Eastland Memorial Hospital.  A graveside service for Mary will be 11 am Monday, September 21st at the Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger.  Family and friends  gathered for a visitation 4-6 pm Sunday the 20that Edwards Funeral Home in Ranger.

Mary was born April 17, 1950 in Ranger, TX to James William (Jr.) Barnes and Edna Mae Chandler Barnes.  She grew up and attended school in Ranger.  In her younger years she participated in Rodeos. Mary loved to go fishing and enjoyed going to dances, mostly to people watch and listen to the music. Mary loved county life and all it entailed.  She loved animals and raised cows and took great pleasure in just going out to the farm to feed and check on them.   Mary worked for Eastland Auction and Hollywood Vassarette before becoming the Manager of Cowpokes Convenience Store in Cisco, TX.  Through the store Mary made many life-long friends and will be missed by both her family and dear friends.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents and a half-brother, J.L. Barnes.

She is survived by two brothers: Bill Barnes and wife Marsha, and Ben Barnes all of Ranger, two nieces: Jennifer Mayes and husband Todd of Ranger and Amanda Bernhard and husband Brad of Bastrop.  Three great nieces: Reagan, Erin and Jordon Mayes and two great nephews: Ethan Mayes and Hunter Bernhard and one precious great-great nephew Cooper Mayes.
