Lisa Watts

Lisa Watts, 56, a homemaker, died at 8:20 am, Sunday, June 21, 2015 at Hendrick In-Patient Hospice Care, Abilene, TX. A memorial service is scheduled July 11, 2015 at the Abilene East Congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses Kingdom Hall located at 2018 Highland Ave., Abilene, TX 79605 at 2:00 pm. The memorial service will be officiated by Tim Cooper and a private reception will follow. Lisa is survived by her husband of more than 36 years Edward D. Watts, daughter Julie Carman and her husband Jeromee and grandson Jamie all of Ranger, brother Steve Shropshire and his wife Mary of Buffalo Gap, parents D.F. and Shirley Shropshire of Abilene, other relatives, countless friends, and many spiritual brothers and sisters. Lisa Gayle Shropshire was born March 9, 1959 in Odessa, TX. Her family moved to Abilene in 1966 where she grew up and attended Abilene High School graduating in 1977. She married Edward D. Watts January 6, 1979 and together raised their only daughter in a loving, peaceful home while living in several different Texas locations. Lisa was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses May 12, 1974. Throughout her life, she demonstrated a strong active faith by teaching her daughter and others the truth about Jehovah God and the wonderful hope as recorded in the Bible. (Psalm 37:9-11, 29, 34). She was a modern day example of a capable wife, mother, and grandmother as described in Proverbs 31. Lisa was a talented homemaker who enjoyed decorating, cooking, cleaning, and taking care of her family. She had a beautiful smile and loved to laugh. A quick wit and strong sense of humor combined with an honest, practical approach to life were a large part of her vibrant personality. Despite suffering serious illness, she maintained a positive attitude and showed remarkable courage inspiring all who knew her. She will be missed. Lisa Watts loved Jehovah God and loved her family. Her name can now be added to the list of countless others who proved their integrity to death and will be resurrected to everlasting life on a paradise earth. May we be there to greet her when she is awakened. Services are with Abilene Cremations.
