   EASTLAND – Larry Wayne Armstrong, 72 of Eastland, passed away Sunday December 6, 2015 in Fort Worth.  Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Shawn Brewer officiating.  Burial will follow in the Elm Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5 until 7 p.m.

     Larry was born September 1, 1943 in Eastland to Weldon and Marvelene (Moore) Armstrong. He graduated from Burkburnett High School then received as Business Management degree from the University of North Texas in Denton.  He was an Engineer for Texas Electric/Oncor for 25 years, and was still working part time as a contractor for Oncor.  He married Vicki Wheeler on January 20, 1990 in Granbury. He had been involved with Eastland Little League, Eastland Kiwanis, Eastland Quarterback Club, Eastland Parks Board, Arlington Big Brothers & Big Sisters, the “Round Table” Coffee Club, and the First Baptist Church.  Larry deeply loved his family, community, and his church. He had a quick smile and never met a stranger.

     Survivors include his wife, Vicki Armstrong of Eastland; a son, Steve Armstrong of Amsterdam; a daughter, Kelly Armstrong of Eastland; a granddaughter, Kendyl Hodges of Weatherford; and a sister, Carole Knight of Wichita Falls; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved little dog “Mr. Man”.

     Memorial donations in Larry’s name may be made to the Elm Cemetery Association, PO Box 404, Rising Star, TX 76471, or to the Eastland County Museum.
