Joyce Marie Holamon Obituary

   Portales, N.M. – Joyce Marie Holamon, 90, of Portales, New Mexico, formerly of Clyde, died Sunday in a Portales hospital.  Memorial services will be scheduled Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the Bailey-Howard Funeral Home Chapel of Clyde.

   Joyce was born August 6, 1925 in Rising Star, Texas to R. F. and Katie Alyne (Joyce) Siekman.  She was a graduate of Rising Star High School.  Joyce was the widow of Herbert “Bert” Holamon whom she married September 19, 1946 in Brownwood.  

   After Bert’s retirement from El Paso Natural Gas in 1983, they moved to Clyde from Kermit where she lived until 2011 when she moved to Portales, New Mexico to be near her daughter Deborah.  Joyce had worked as a bookkeeper for Magneto Clinic and Axelson Oilfield Service before her retirement.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Portales.

   Joyce is survived by two sons, David Holamon and wife Jan of Gardendale and Don Holamon and wife Teri of Garland; one daughter Deborah Bentley and husband Gilbert of Portales, New Mexico; one sister, Betty Fisher of Rising Star; one brother, Bob Siekman and wife Betty of McKinney (formerly of  Pyote); 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  

   Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, William “Bud” Siekman.
