John Garrett Obituary

EASTLAND – John Garrett, 72 of Eastland, passed away Tuesday February 16, 2016.  Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Eastland City Cemetery with Tim Dame officiating and under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

     John was born November 5, 1943 in Eastland to John Henry and Merle (Hilburn) Garrett.  He married Glenda Faye Johnson on September 9, 1961 in Big Spring.  He was a pipe liner for Watkins Construction, and a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.  He was preceded in death by a son, John Grandal Garrett on November 20, 1982.

     Survivors include his wife, Glenda Garrett; a son, Greg Garrett & wife Carla; a sister, Mary Ann Perkins; 2 grandchildren, Trisha Sue Arnold & husband Barney Dan, and Kristina Sue Richardson & husband Matthew D.; and 6 great-grandchildren, Kasey Rae, Janna Lynn, Carra Grace, and Kynle Jae Arnold, Nettie, and Jordan.
