James "Jim Ed" Willman Obituary

James "Jim Ed" Willman

James “Jim Ed” Willman, 80, of Dallas, TX passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 29, 2016.

He was born in Eastland, TX on August 25, 1935 to Ed and Louise Willman.  Jim was valedictorian and drum major at Eastland High School,

where he graduated in 1952.

Not only did he achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, but he volunteered as an adult leader for years, even after his own sons graduated

from the program.  After High School he attended Southern Methodist University, was a member of their performance and marching bands,

and was a member of Delta Chi fraternity.  He graduated from SMU in 1956.  He loved fishing, hunting, tennis and golf, but his favorite

pastime was participating in the lives of his kids and grandkids.  He also had a servants heart, as he actively participated in the life of his

church where he volunteered for many years in the church’s youth theater program (ACT), the men’s chorus, the Koinonia class, bread

ministry, and tending the prayer garden.  Jim is survived by his wife Sue; two sons Kenneth of Greenville IN and his wife Carol, and

Michael of Arlington TX and his wife Cheryl; and his granddaughters Christian, Courtney, Lindsey, and Megan; and many friends and relatives.

The service is June 3, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Lake Highlands UMC, 9015 Plano Rd, Dallas TX.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made

in his name to either the ACT program at Lake Highlands UMC, or the Boy Scouts of America at http://aplacetogive.scouting.org/.
