Harvey L. Lewis, Jr., 75, of Paris, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Paris Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, June 29, 2015 at Bright-Holland Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Ed Woerner, Mr. Sam Cole and Mr. James Miller officiating. Burial to be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-6 pm, Sunday, at the funeral home. Mr. Lewis was born November 21, 1939 in Coleman, Texas to Harvey Love Lewis, Sr. and Veoma Pauline Buck Lewis. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the height of the Berlin Wall situation. While in the Army, in Germany, he enjoyed playing football, same as he did in high school. He married Sharon Chick in Eastland, Texas on December 27, 1965, building almost 50 years of family and memories. Harvey began his carrier in 1965, in Eastland, with Hollywood Vassarette and later went on to be employed by Royal Park Inc. for 13 years. He was brought to Paris to run the Paris Sewing business and from there he later went to work for and eventually retired, in 2008, from Rogers-Wade Manufacturing. Harvey was a huge sports fan. He loved coaching Little League Baseball during the years his sons were playing. He loved to cook outdoors and fishing was a favorite pastime. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Sharon; one daughter, Launa McCord & husband Joey of Paris; two sons, Harvey Lewis, III & wife Melissa of Blossom and Brandon Lewis & wife Mandi of Reno; grandchildren are, Kayli Lewis, Karsen Lewis, Raynie Lewis, Maci Burchfield and Corey Burchfield; one brother, James Charles Lewis of Breckenridge; two brothers-in-law, whom he was very close to, Steve Chick and Alan Chick, along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
