Frances “Fran” Laverne Richardson Hall

Frances “Fran” Laverne Richardson Hall of Eastland, Texas passed away peacefully at home on October 7, 2015 in Pflugerville, Texas at the age of 87. She will be missed dearly by all that knew and loved her. She will be remembered for her unwavering love and devotion to her family, generosity, friendship, and her ability to light up a room with her smile and laughter. Frances enjoyed simple mornings on the porch with a cup of coffee and a crossword puzzle, cooking feasts for all to enjoy, and playing with her beloved dog.
Frances is survived by her children Cynthia Diane Hall Dethloff and husband Herbert and children Katherine Abigayle Griffin and husband Rick Griffin and children Ainsley Margaret and Victoria Hollyn, and Jon Bradley and wife Heather; and Deborah Kay Hall Garza and husband Oscar and children Sean Grant, Jennifer Grant and husband Dario Conte, Travis Grant, and Amy Grant and child Mila Frances; and her dog Cassie.
She is preceded in death by Jesse Ellis Richardson, Frances Gertrude Smith Richardson, Robert Edward Hall, Bobie Dees Jackson, Potter, and Gizmo.
Frances was born on August 15, 1928 to Frances Gertrude Smith Richardson and Jesse Ellis Richardson in Eastland, Texas. She graduated from Eastland High School in 1944. Frances then graduated from Durham’s Business College in Abilene, Texas in 1946. She took great pride in her secretarial work and the friendships she made through her work. On January 27, 1947 Frances married Robert Edward Hall of Sylvester, Texas. Together they raised two beautiful daughters, Cynthia Diane Hall Dethloff and Deborah Kay Hall Garza. Frances retired as a Medical Services Coordinator in Dallas, Texas with the Texas Rehabilitation Commission. She and Robert then relocated back to Eastland, Texas. Robert and Frances were married 56 years until Robert’s death in 2003. In 2006 Frances was reunited with her High School sweetheart, Bobie Dees Jackson. They married in June 2006 and remained married until Bobie’s death in 2012. Frances then relocated to Austin, Texas to be with family.
Frances was a past Charter Member at Elmwood West Methodist Church in Abilene, Texas and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Eastland, Texas. She was a breast cancer survivor and advocate for early detection. Frances was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother that will be dearly missed but forever in our hearts.
A memorial service is scheduled Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 4:00 pm at Bakker Funeral Home at 411 S. Mulberry Street in Eastland, Texas. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Frances’s life.
