   EASTLAND – Charlene Haggard, 83, of Midland, passed away Monday, February 9, 2015 in Midland.  

   Services will be  held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 14, 2015 at the Bakker Funeral Home Chapel with W. Don Swindell officiating.  Burial will follow in the Murray Cemetery in Carbon.

     Mrs. Haggard was born April 7, 1931 in Comanche County to Thomas Paul Hearn and Johnnie Mae Walker Hearn.  She married Vernon Wesley Haggard, Sr. on January 13, 1950 in Lubbock.  She lived in California, Carbon, and Midland for the last 15 years.  She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time taking care of her family.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon, on August 10, 1995.  Also preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Maxey Steve Haggard; a brother, Tommy Hearn; a sister, Viola Byron; and a grandson, Jimmy Mack Haggard.

     Survivors include 2 sons, Vernon W. Haggard, Jr, and David Wayne Haggard both of Midland; 4 daughters, Donna Willey and Nickie Kraemer both of Midland, Brenda Leach of Ontario, CA, and Debbie Dickey of San Antonio; 2 brothers, Henry Hearn of Lubbock, and Charles Hearn of Houston; a sister, Doris Hadaway of San Antonio; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and many nieces & nephews.
