     Betty Maberry Douglass, age 90, formally of Rising Star, passed away from this life on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at the Rising Star Nursing Center in Rising Star, Texas.

   Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 29, 2016 at Higginbotham Funeral Chapel with Terry Simmons officiating  burial will be at 3:00 p.m. at the McCaulley Cemetery in Fisher County, Texas. The Family will have a time of Visitation from 10:00 - 10:30 a.m. before the funeral service on Friday, January 29, 2016. 

 

Betty was born on February 8, 1925 in Hawley, Texas to Charles Alfred Lee and Willie Ellen (Martin) Lee. She was a homemaker, devoted wife and mother. She attended the First Baptist Church in Rising Star, Texas.

 

She is survived by one daughter, Doris Cox and her husband, James of Rising Star, Texas and one daughter in law, Cynthia Pace of Cleburne, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Roger; Ronda; Tonja; Tami; Steve; Kevin; Teri Kay; Tracey; Kyle and Kody; 16 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. 

 

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Willie Ellen Lee, two sisters, Bessie Jewel Hicks and Pansy Pace, three brothers, Cecil Lee; Charles Alfred Lee and River Dawson Lee; three sons, Edward Darrell Pace; Billy Don Pace and Kenneth Dale Place; three husbands, E. C. Pace; Bob Maberry and Ross Douglass.
