BUSINESS LEADERS CALL FOR ACTION FROM EASTLAND COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT

It was an opening round, of discussion, for the Commissioners Court last Monday as Bryan Jackson and other business leaders of Eastland County pushed for changes in taxation and levy for the next fiscal year budget. Making for a packed court room and fresh from a meeting the week before, carrying number and note laden pages, several voices spoke to the Court in questioning the huge Budget, Indigent Health Care amounts, trimming of budget by at least .5%, and lowering the tax rate another 10%. This comes after a 300 to 500 % increase in taxes.
