Emma Lou Watts Obituary
Emma Lou Watts, 79, of Cisco, Texas, passed away peacefully in the Cisco Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Friday, August 26, 2016.
Emma was born in Albany, Texas, to David Huber and Clara Wernecke Huber. She attended schools in Cisco. Emma married Ike Watts on May 5, 1957 and
they enjoyed nearly 60 years of marriage. She began work at Cisco Junior College (now known as Cisco College) in September 1954 and retired on May 31, 1999.
Emma loved being involved in community activities. She was active in civic events such as the Folklife Festival, Christmas in May, and Holiday at the Hilton.
She was a member of the Cisco Civic League, the Lions Club, the Chamber of Commerce, the Hilton Foundation, and the Texas Community College Association.
For enjoyment, Emma liked to work in her flower garden and patio. She was an exceptional cook. She thoroughly enjoyed her “Birthday Group.”
She is survived by her husband, Ike Watts of Cisco; son Ricky Watts, Cisco, and daughter Susan Moore and husband Miles, of Moran.
Her grandchildren are Eric Watts of Cisco; Melissa Watts Wilks and husband Justin of Weatherford; Amanda Watts of Weatherford;
and great-grandson, Jonathen Wilks of Weatherford and a host of friends.Her sisters include Ester Barker of Imperial Beach, CA; and Ella Thompson of San Antonio.
Emma was preceded in death by sisters Clara Stevenson and Mildred Johnson, and brother Bill Huber.
Funeral arrangements are being made by Kimbrough Funeral Home in Cisco, Texas. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, August 28th, 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Services will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Monday, August 29th, at 2:00 p.m. A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Cisco.
Pastor Daniel Trempala will officiate this celebration of life.
