Robert "Bobby" Joe Jay Obituary

   Robert “Bobby” Joe Jay, age 56 of Gorman, passed away, Monday, April 4, 2016 at the Comanche County Medical Center.

  Graveside service will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 7, 2016 at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Gorman with Kelly Jay officiating.

   Robert “Bobby” Joe Jay was born October 5, 1959 in Gorman, Texas  to Thurman Lee Jay, Jr. and Claudia Mary (Lennington) Jay.  Bobby was a member of the football team that

won the state title in 1976.  He was a graduate of Gorman High School. Bobby was a self-employed welder and  also enjoyed hunting and fishing.  

   Bobby is survived by one brother, William Jay of Gorman; sister, Mary McCormick of Aledo; sister-in-law, Ann Jay of Gorman; five nephews, Jay McCormick and wife,

Reim of Tom Ball, Marty McCormick of Fort Worth, Lee McCormick and wife, Mela of Fort Worth, T. J. Jay of Lubbock and Russell Jay and wife, Madysen of Cleburne;

three great nieces and three great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James Jay.

   Visitation will be at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday before the graveside service.

   The family request donations be made to the American Heart Association.
