Benjamin H. Green Obituary
July 15, 1933 - October 4, 2015 Benjamin H. Green, 82, of Woodway, TX passed away Sunday, October 4th at a local nursing center. Celebration of life services will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 10th in the Chapel at First Baptist Church, Waco with Dr. Randall Perry officiating. Thoughts and memories may be shared at www.LakeShoreFH.com. Benjamin was born July 15, 1933 in Romeo, MI to Benjamin and Ferne (Hoskins) Green. The family later moved to Eastland, TX. After graduating from Eastland HS; Ben attended Cisco JC, and finished his Bachelor’s degree at Hardin-Simmons University. During his lifetime, Ben was a music minister, teacher/bus driver, principal, engineer, and project manager, as well as loving husband and father. Upon retiring from Lockheed, with over 30 years of service, Ben returned to substitute teaching. After losing their spouses; Ben and Joy (Dollahite), former high school sweethearts, got reacquainted during a reunion in 2000. They married on February 14, 2001. Together, they enjoyed cruising and road trips, and they were active members of First Baptist Church of Waco. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of over 40 years, Beverly Boyd Green; and brother, Otis Asa Green. Ben is survived by wife Joy Lynne Green; children, Paula Green, Pamela Reaves and husband James, Ben Green IV, and Melody Green; step-daughter, Laura Gardner and husband Timothy; grandchildren, John and Joel Reaves, Kevin Burgess, Ben Green V and wife Emily, and Casey Green; great grandson, Brantley Green; sister, Yvonne Wise; sister-in-law, Norma Green and husband Jerald; niece, Holly Green; and nephews, James Green, and Charles Chaney, plus several cousins. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Meals On Wheels of Waco or First Baptist Church of Waco Foundation. |
