Gorman Volleyball In Playoff Race

Goes 1-1 In Tough Games This Week

Last Tuesday, Sep 30, the Gorman Lady Panthers hosted the Lingleville Lady Cards in a district contest. The Lady Panthers started strong and finished strong, sweeping the Lady Cards in 3 straight games, 25-13, 25-17 and 25-19. Outstanding hitters were Mayra Ramirez, Yuli Madera and Megan Gray. Leading in service winners were Alexia Madera, Gray and Vanessa Longoria. Gorman hit the road on Saturday morning to take on the Lady Tigers of Gustine. This match with Gustine was a hard-fought, back and forth contest that went all 5 games. The Lady Panthers would pull away late and take game 1 by 11, 25-14. The visitors stayed on a roll, and got the best of the Lady Tigers in game 2, 25-21. However, Gustine did not quit or go away, taking game 3 and game 4 by 5 points each, 25-20.
