EHS Tennis Team Successful In Santa Anna

On March 7th , the Eastland Tennis team traveled to Santa Anna to participate in a very large tournament consisting of 24 towns. Due to the size only the winners’ bracket was played. Mackenzie Gulley won 3rd place in girls’ singles. She defeated Butler from Stamford 8-3, Arnott from Brookesmith 8-2, Atkins from Strawn 8-4 moving her into the semi-finals. Mackenzie then faced Shelby Grelle from Paint Rock. They had some great vollies and returns in the match which began at 10:30 PM. She lost 0-8 but Grelle went on to win the championship later that night only losing 3 games the entire day.
