Gulley Upset In District Tennis Tourney

The Mavericks and Lady Mavericks participated in the District 7 2A tennis tournament in Abilene this past week, Wednesday and Thursday. Mackenzie Gulley was the top seed in the Varsity Ladies division. With Gulley’s high finishes in previous tourneys, the seed was well earned. However, Gulley ran into a very hot Eline Bandy of Breckenridge in the 2nd round. Bandy eliminated Gulley and then went on to take the district championship in the ladies division.
