Eastland Memorial Highlights Women’s Health Tips at May 18 Seminar
Free lunch event will cover important health-and-wellness tips for women of all ages.
EASTLAND, Texas (May 6, 2016) – Achieving balance in life can be a challenge for some women. Helping them find the path to health and wellness is what Eastland Memorial Hospital aims to do at an
upcoming free lunch-and-learn seminar on May 18.
Dr. Valerie DeLuca, an internal medicine physician in Eastland, will be the guest speaker at the luncheon. She will share professional advice for helping women understand keys to ensuring that their
health is on the right track.
“It’s easy to get so caught up with work, family and life in general that we forget to take care of ourselves,” DeLuca explains. “Our seminar this month is designed to slow things down and use real-world
examples of how women can focus on what their bodies may or may not be telling them.”
According to the Pew Research Center, 56 percent of women say they find balancing work and family responsibilities “very” or “somewhat” difficult. Finding personal time in addition only contributes
to the many stresses women endure.
The hour-long seminar, a free program offered by Eastland Memorial, will feature tips and resources on top health screenings and concerns facing women of all ages. From cancer screening to aging,
and everything in between, Dr. DeLuca will explain how the dynamic healthcare needs of women vary based on age and background.
“As with all things regarding your health and wellness, prevention and maintenance are key. The last thing we want is for you to let your health go by the wayside,” Dr. DeLuca says. “That’s what
we’re trying to prevent.”
Dr. DeLuca will lead the Lunch seminar, which will be held on May 18 at the EMH conference room. The event will take place from noon until 1 p.m.
Though the program is free, space is limited and expected to reach capacity. Interested individuals must register before May 16 by calling 254-631-5350.
