In the late 40’s after Dad died, mother and I lived at the less-than-elegant two story Dinslow Hotel across the street from the prestigious Laguna which was a major center. She worked at the Brown Chiropractic Hospital on Seventh (?) St. and I was a freshman or sophomore at CHS. It was a major event for us to occasionally eat breakfast of pancakes at the Laguna Dining Room.
