The Eastland Mavericks took the next step in the baseball playoffs towards a state berth with a 2-0 series win over the Alpine Bucks in San Angelo last Friday and Saturday. Solid pitching and sound approaches at the plate allowed them to emerge victorious over a tough opponent that featured tenacity and a strong arm in Bucks first game starter Evan Moore who hit 90 mph several times on the field radar gun.
