The Eastland Mavericks move to 2-0 in their 2014 football season with a 29-26 win over the Clyde Bulldogs in a game that wasn’t settled until the final minutes of the fourth quarter after a sack by senior defensive lineman Brayden Blackwell. Clyde fought hard on the night to keep from dropping to 0-2 and gave the Mavericks a good pre-district test and revealed some areas of continued improvement that the Mavericks will need to make as they move toward their district schedule.
