Mavericks Advance To Area After Bi-District Sweep Defeat Jacksboro 14-9, 8-6

The Eastland Mavericks baseball team continued their 2014 campaign with a 2-0 sweep of the fourth place Jacksboro Tigers from district 8-2A. The Mavericks continued to produce offense throughout the two game series but their defense and pitching was not as consistent as it has been up to this point in the season. Game one saw the Mavericks eventually stretch their lead to 14-5 going into the bottom of the seventh inning when pitcher Chris Howard began to run out of gas and the defense committed an uncharacteristic 8 errors on the night with two of those coming in the seventh inning.
