Jason Cochran explains the plans.

Eastland Rotary Club and Educational Future

On February 12th 2015 the Eastland Rotary Club met.  They gathered to discus whether they were going to do a ongoing continuation to help support the Boy Scouts.  It was a unanimous vote and passed to help out with them.  They then were visited by Jason Cochran the superintendent from Eastland High School.  They were told of the bond to expand the education system to build a new high school and gym.  He also explained they would implement the old school and make it still useful for the educational purposes.  He went on to further explain they wanted to build the school to allow for growth in the area but not to overkill the project, making the school to large but more state of the art and up to date to allow for growth.  Going on from there several questions arise.  They club was wondering how this is going to effect the community and how it would benefit the local businesses.  He simply answered that it would allow students to grow their skills to sustain the local community and also contribute by giving them the skills they need to keep the city and county running and allow for more business growth to happen.
