As my finger slid across the metallic surface and felt the engraving of the letters reading; Column Writing, Div. 5, my mind just did not comprehend. My eyes drifted to thetop of the wooden and metallic plaque. A round disc with 1st Place in the center of it looked up at me. As my Publisher Mr. O’Brien spoke inaudible words, I began to realize a childhood fantasy was possible after all. The Stockman’s Daughter column has been such a gratifying experience to create. Mr. O’Brien suggested I come up with some stories about the country life and there you have it. A great idea.
