By Stephen Forester

This past Friday, the Gorman Panthers hosted the Lipan Indians in a district contest. Both teams were looking to stay alive in the playoff hunt with a victory. The Panthers were able to open the first inning with a run to take an early 1-0 lead. Flavio Herrera reached base on a single and later scored via a sacri- fice bunt by Jose Maldonado. Lipan wasted no time in tying the game at 1 in the bottom of the first.
