Ranger Golfers Take Aim at National Tournament Berth

POTTSBORO, Texas – The Ranger College men’s golf team moved one step closer to historic levels on Tuesday afternoon with a solid performance over the first three rounds of play at the 2016 NJCAA Southwest Championships at Tanglewood Resort. Through the first three rounds, Ranger stands in sixth place in the overall team standings, just 23 strokes behind Western Texas College and a berth in the NJCAA National Golf Championships. Ranger College men’s golf coach Bill Foy said he was pleased with the team’s play in the first half of the Southwest Championships. The team’s scrappy effort, he said, had the Rangers within striking distance of their ultimate goal – a trip to Melbourne, Fla., for the national tournament.
