Thelma L. "Bobbie" Rollins

EASTLAND – Thelma L. “Bobbie” Rollins, age 92, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, February 19, 2017. 

Funeral services for Bobbie will be at 11 am, Thursday, February 23 at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel at 411 S. Mulberry St. Eastland, TX. 

Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home and 10 - 11 am Thursday morning before the service. 

Burial will be on Tuesday, February 28th at the Ft. Sam Houston Cemetery in San Antonio, TX.

Bobbie was born August 4, 1924 in Romance, AR to Ruben l. and Iva Stone Hill.  She grew up in Romance and graduated from Romance High School. 

While visiting in Searcy, AR she met a young man by the name of Francis Monroe Rollins and on December 20, 1943, they were married in Batesville, AR. Monroe

was a career military man and Bobbie was the perfect military wife.  She loved to travel and was able to travel many times with her husband on his

new station of duty.  While living in Kerrville, TX Bobbie did a lot of volunteer work at the Senior Citizens Center and the State Hospital in Kerrville.

After the loss of the husband, Bobbie moved to Eastland in May of 1997 and moved into the new Woodland Assisted Living Center.  

Bobbie loved doing crafts of all kinds but her favorite was crochet.  She enjoyed playing Bingo and even later in life continued to love to travel. 

Bobbie was a very independent lady.  Bobbie was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.  

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Monroe Rollins, a sister, Carlene Holland and brother, Verner Hill and

her precious first born son, Larry Rollins.

Bobbie is survived by sons; Garry Rollins and wife Patty of Prospect, KY and Phillip Rollins and wife Julie of Denham Springs, LA and a beloved daughter-in-law,

LaJuan Rollins of Eastland, TX, 6 grandchildren; Bekky Rogers, Rowdy Rollins, Sarah Nussbaum, Emily Kulp, Alyssa Dugas, Daniel Rollins and

12 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
