Tessie "Geneva" Rush

  MULESHOE- Service for Tessie "Geneva" Rush, age 91, of Clovis, New Mexico, is scheduled for 1:00 PM, Texas time, Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel in Muleshoe with Brother Wayne Boydstun of Clovis and Pastor Tommy Hohstadt of Clovis officiating. Burial will be in Bailey County Cemetery.  There will be a family visitation at Ellis Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Texas time. Geneva died July 12, 2015 in Lubbock, Texas.  She  was born August 6, 1923 in Salado, Texas to Hardy Lee and Clem (Kidd) Thomas.   She married Dewey Frank Rush Jr. in Cisco, Texas in 1944. 

 

   Tessie moved from Muleshoe to Clovis in 1971.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and playing games.  She was known as the Wa-Hoo champion and the Champion of her families’ lives.  Tessie was a member of the Prince Street Baptist Church in Clovis, New Mexico.  She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three brothers, Howard, Lonnie and A.J. Thomas; four sisters, Pearl Hobbs, Agnes Sullivent, Ida Mae Notgrass and Vera Owens; three sons, R.T. Rush, Randy Rush and David Rush; and one granddaughter.

 

   Survivors include five sons, Dwain Rush of Lubbock, Texas, Mickey Rush of Clovis, New Mexico, Gaylon Rush and his wife, Lynn of Elgin, Oklahoma, Wesley Rush of Lubbock, Texas, and Stacy Rush and his wife, Jody of Clovis, New Mexico; three daughters, Manda Cadenhead and her husband, Curtis of Amarillo, Texas, Darlene Rush of Artesia, New Mexico, and Michelle Chadwick and her husband, Bobby of Farwell, Texas; sixteen grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
