Steve Singleton

 

 

Steve Singleton, 69, of De Leon, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2016,at home surrounded by his family. He was born January 8, 1947, in Gorman

to John Thomas Singleton and Geraldean Joiner Singleton. Steve married Laura Hight July 28, 1969 in Comanche.

 

Steve lived in the De Leon and Rucker communities his entire life. He was awarded the Man of the Year honor in 2013 by the De Leon

Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church but had been attending Morton Chapel for many years. Steve,

along with Laura and their son Jaret, owned and operated Steve Singleton Plumbing for 39 years. He loved his work and the

opportunity it provided him to help people. He enjoyed travelling when he was able to and spending time with his family and many

friends. He was greatly loved by the community and will be missed by all who knew him.

 

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 47 years, Laura Singleton; sons, Jaret Singleton and wife, Shelley, and

Michael Singleton; grandson, Jacob Singleton; granddaughter, Carrie Singleton; brothers, Eddie Hight and wife, Lisa,

and Larry Hight and wife, Brenda, and Neil Singleton and wife, Sandy; numerous nieces and nephews; and other

extended family. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, John and Geraldean Singleton.

 

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 31, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in

De Leon with Pastor John Woodard and Brother Kenneth Wilson officiating. Graveside services will follow at 1:00 p.m.
