Rosie Roberta Duncan

   RANGER – Rosie Roberta Duncan, age 95, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Friday, February 10, 2017. 

   Services for Roberta will be at 2 pm, Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at the Second Baptist Church in Ranger, TX with

visitation 10 am – 12 pm the same day at Edwards Funeral Home, 211 Pine St., Ranger, TX. Burial will be at the Merriman Cemetery, Ranger.

   Rosie Roberta was born August 20, 1921 in Eastland County to Robert C. and Ethel King Balderree.   She graduated from

Morton Valley High School.  She was married to Bill Jack Duncan who preceded her in death in 1986. Roberta and

Bill lived simple lives, raising calves, chickens and turkeys.

   Roberta was a very interesting lady.  During WWII, she worked as “Rosie the Riveter”, riviting on the horizontal stabilizer on

B-24s for the company that is now Lockheed Martin.  Roberta worked as part of the WPA to get the swimming pool built in Ranger. 

She worked as a cook, cooking meal at the Senior Citizens Center. She also cooked meals for the Lions and Kiwanis Clubs in

Ranger and she was a volunteer for the Ranger Library.  Roberta loved to do crafts; Painting and crocheting.

  Roberta was preceded in death by her husband Bill, a brother, Bob Balderree,  sisters; Mary Lee Williams, Sadie Duncan,

and Annie Belle Williams, and a dearly loved granddaughter-in-law, Stefany Boyett.  

  She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Golden and her husband Michael, grandchildren; Kimberly Stokes and husband Gary,

and Brad Boyett, great-grandsons; John and Justin Boyett, numerous nieces and nephews,  Roberts is also survived by a

dear sister-in-law Jerry Balderree.
