Robert D. "Bob" Medford Obituary

   CARBON – Robert D. “Bob” Medford, 93 of Carbon, passed away Tuesday June 21, 2016 in Carbon surrounded by his family.  Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Elm Cemetery with

Terry Simmons officiating.  The family will receive friends at Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland Thursday, 6~8:00 p.m.

     Mr. Medford was born September 2, 1922 in Okra to James Garrett Medford and Youtha Hilton Medford.  He graduated from Carbon High School.  He served in the U.S. Army.  He married

Elizabeth Rogers on September 11, 1948 in Ranger.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Rising Star, as well as the American Legion.

     He was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Jane “BJ” Bracken; as well as 2 sisters, Wynogene Rood, and Laura Kate Stringer.

     Survivors include his wife Elizabeth “Liz” Medford of Carbon; a son, Daryl Medford & wife Karla of Carbon; 2 daughters, Sally Ann Bleeker & husband Jack of Boerne, and

Nancy Winchester & husband Dwane of Boerne; 7 grandchildren, Ryan, Julie, Claire, Sarah, Kailey, Morgan, & Kylie; 2 great-grandchildren, Ashlee, and Blakely; and by special friends, Gina and Gary Tucker.

     Memorial donations in Bobs’ name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 8th Ave, 7th Floor, NYC, NY  10001.
