    STRAWN – Loran Elzy Black, 85, passed from this life Saturday, January 9, 2016.  Loran was born October 29, 1930 to John L. and Callie Black in Abilene, Texas. He attended school in Ranger, Texas. Loran married Anita June Griffin July 19, 1952 in Abilene, Texas. He was a master builder and spent most of his life working in construction, most recently as a field superintendent for Ambienti U.S.A., INC.

    Those that will miss him most are his wife of 64 years, Anita, two sons, David Black and Michael Black and wife Nancy. He is also survived by one brother Ealy Black and wife Mary, sister, Martha Vittrup and husband Tom, 6 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Callie, four brothers; Harvey, Alfred, Johnny, and John Paul, and two sisters; Genell Roberson and Linda Wimprine.

   Funeral Services celebrating Loran’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 12th at The Opal Guest Memorial Chapel in Strawn, Texas. Burial will be in the New Gordon Cemetery in Gordon, Texas. Pallbearers are his nephews, Mark Roberson, Lee Jumper, Bruce Black, Wade Black, Ealy Black II, Rickey Black, and Duane Black.
