Linda Ann Straub

 Linda Ann Straub, 60, of Gorman, went home to her Lord and Savior Saturday, December 13, 2014, with her family by her side. 

   Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joe Baptist Church with Brother Jackie Auvenshine and Brother Daryl Hirst officiating. Graveside services followed in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Comanche County. Serving as pallbearers were Mike Straub, Greg Landfried, Matthew Iley, Brent Landfried, Tye Hayes and Michael Kimmell. 

   She was born July 11, 1954, in De Leon to Jack and Olean Nabors Straub.

   Linda moved to Gorman from De Leon after graduating from De Leon High

School in 1972. Linda was employed at Birdsong Peanuts in Gorman for over 41 years. She was a faithful and dedicated employee who served in numerous capacities over the years but was most recently the shipping customer service representative. She loved her job and considered her

employers and co-workers her family.

   Linda always had a welcoming smile on her face. She was always cheerful and friendly to anyone she met. She enjoyed watching sports, especially basketball, and cooking. She loved her cat, Zoe, dearly.

Her nieces and nephews were the light of her life. She loved each of them as if they were her own and they were all so close to her. Linda  leaves behind a loving legacy of family and friends and will be truly

missed by many.

   She is survived by her step mother, Evelyn Straub; brothers, Charles Straub and wife, Carolyn, and Bob Straub and wife, Paulette; sisters, Carol Landfried and husband, Kenny, and Janell Quinn and husband, Andy; nephews and nieces, Mike Straub and fiancé, Lon Anne, Melissa Horner, Greg Landfried and wife, Jana, Brandi Iley and husband, Matthew, Brent Landfried and fiancé, Amanda, Mindi Kimmell and husband, Michael, and Kara Hayes and husband, Tye; great-nephews, Dillon Horner, Kelton Iley and Tabor Hayes; other extended family; her Birdsong Peanuts family; and many other dear friends. Linda has gone

home to join her father, Jack Straub; mother, Olean Nabors Straub; and nephew, Chris Straub.
