Leonard Elton Tipton

   CISCO- Leonard Elton Tipton, Loving husband, dad and papa (aka Big Tom or Baggy), answered the call home in the early morning on April 19, 2016. 

   He was born May 31, 1930 at Chesley Ranch, north of Lake Cisco. He is from the lineage of the Chesley Field, named after his grandfather John Chesley.

He attended Cisco High School and Cisco Junior College.  He served in the Army for 20 years, participated in the Korean War, 3 tours in Vietnam and retired

in Cisco in 1976. He worked for Phillips Petroleum after the Korean War. He sold gates and panels for Bob Mortamer in Cisco and for Sid Waynack in Carbon,

retiring in the early 1990’s. He married Wilma Herzberg on March 16, 1957 in Lovington, New Mexico. They were married 59 years.

   He was preceded in death by his son Robert Andrew Tipton, his brothers Elbert, Hervey and Chesley Tipton, and one sister Jo Latson, his mother

Carrie Ella Chesley Tipton and father Andrew Price Tipton.

   He is survived by his wife Wilma Tipton, daughter Iris Tipton, daughter and son-in-law Dianna and Gerry Webb, daughter and son-in-law

Debbie and Greg Callahan, Son and daughter-in-law Andrew and Alex Tipton; 14 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and one on the way and 10 nieces and nephews.

   There will be no services at this time, but there will be a celebration of his life arranged at a later date.
