Jonell Wyatt Jackson

Jonell Wyatt Jackson, age 87, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Granite Mesa Health Center in Marble Falls, Texas, where she had lived for the past two and one-half years. She was born November 28, 1925 to Ray and Lelia (Knight) Wyatt and graduated from Carbon High School in 1945. On December 10, 1948, she married James E. (Heppy) Jackson and they shared 56 years of marriage on their farm south of Carbon prior to Heppy’s death in 2002. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carbon. Jonell is survived by one daughter, Linda Kay Neeley and husband, Curtis of Horseshoe Bay, Texas; grandson, Cody Cox of Arlington, Texas; grandson Corey Cox and wife, Shannon and great granddaughters Tatum, Hayden and Kinley Cox of Grapevine, Texas; one sister, Lois Moffitt of Midland, Texas; brother-inlaw Bobbie Joe Jackson of Odessa, Texas; brother-inlaw Drew Dan Jackson and wife Bertie of Cisco, Texas; sister-in-law Betty Jackson of Dallas, Texas; sister-inlaw Patsy Sims and husband Henry of Graham, Texas; and sister-in-law Pauline Jackson of Missouri and various nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Heppy; daughter, Deborah Sue Cox; parents, Ray and Lelia Wyatt; brother Bill Wyatt; brother-in-law Leland Jackson; brotherin- law Laverne and wife Dorothy Jackson; brother-inlaw Dwain and wife Doc; and sister-in-law Lou Ann Griffith and husband, John. The funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 30, 2015 at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Eastland, Texas and will be conducted by her nephew, Dale Jackson. Interment immediately following service at Murray Cemetery in Carbon, Texas. There will be a family visitation Thursday, January 29 from 5-7 at the funeral home. The family wishes to express their everlasting gratitude to the staff at Granite Mesa Health Center for their tender loving care during Jonell’s time there. She loved each and everyone of her Earth Angels. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made in her memory to the Carbon Volunteer Fire Department, the Carbon Community Center or the Carbon Cemetery Association. Checks may be made payable to the respective organization and mailed to Mrs. Mittie Bledsoe, 217 CR 414, Carbon, TX 76435. And if I should go before you Know that part of me still remains. You will not see me, yet I will Be there walking beside you. You will not touch me. Yet I will live in your heart and memory always. Have faith that we will one day walk Hand in hand in eternity. Until then, live your life for life is good.... and know that I am with you.
