Jerry D. Parks Obituary

   CRESSON — Jerry D. Parks passed away Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, at the age of 72. 

 Celebration of life was held  at 11 a.m. Tuesday,  at Brown Owens & Brumley’s Joe B. Brown  Memorial Chapel.

Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. 

  Jerry was born June 8, 1943, to the late Gerald and Merle Parks in Abilene. 

 Jerry retired from XTO after more than 25 years of dedicated service. He was an  avid collector of antiques. Jerry served as president of the

Bluebonnet Water  Board and also served in the Texas National Guard. Jerry was a loving and  devoted husband, brother, uncle and friend

and will be missed. 

    Survivors: Wife of 43 years, Cheryl Parks; brothers, Jay Parks, James T.  Waddell IV, David Roop and Steve Roop; sisters, Jane Parks Floyd and

Julie  Shankle; six nieces; six nephews; and many friends.
