Jake Norman Perry was born on September 29, 1924 in Gunsight to James Henry Perry and Tommie Lee Billman Perry. He married Jo Nell Roberson on February 5, 1949 in
Amarillo. Mr. Perry worked at Bell telephone for 47 years after World War II. He was in the Air Force with the communications/radio division in Burma, India and was very
proud of his service to our country. He loved boating & water skiing. It was mandatory that the whole family learn to ski on two skis and then to slalom ski. He taught us how
to have fun in water and how to be safe. Jake loved his cattle and horses. He would take us as children in his pickup to go call them out of the pasture. He was happiest when
he was caring for them, branding them and taking them to market.
He was the youngest of the family and loved his four brothers and one sister.
Survivors include his daughters, Terra Perry of Dallas and Drena Nitschke of Amarillo; grandchildren, Renee Chapman and husband, Steve of Buna and Angela Berry of Amarillo;
four great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one sister, and four brothers.
Memorials can be made to the Leon River Cowboy Church, P.O. Box 1411, Eastland, TX 76448. The family invites friends to leave a condolence or share a memory
of Jake in the online guestbook at www.meltonkitchens.com.
