J. B. Jarvis

59, of Iredell and former Coleman resident, died Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Abilene Regional Medical Center.  Graveside service was at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 27, 2015 at the Coleman City Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Homer Reddic officiating. Burial followed, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home. J.B. Jarvis was born October 20, 2015 in Portales, New Mexico to Raymond Wirt Jarvis and Clara AlvinaVielguth. He grew up and attended school in Rising Star and served in the United States Army. On March 5, 1984, he married Ola Dee Johnson in Cross Plains. He  had lived in Brown, Colemanand Eastland counties for the last 25 years. He was employed with the Eastland County Water District at the time of his death. He also attended Canaan Baptist Church in Loraine. Survivors include one daughter, Ola Dee Lobstein, and husband, Ernest, Sr., of Cisco; one son, Billy Vest Jr. of Pleasanton; one sister and brother-in-law, Rae Jean Jarvis and Rex Thompson of Coleman; five brothersin- law and sisters-in-law, Hubert Floyd  nd Anita Johnson of Conroe, Roy L. and Kathleen Johnson of Tyler, Claude and Kathy Johnson of Odessa, Rosa Lee Deason of Rising Star, Virginia and Dennis Gookin of Tulsa, Oklahoma. J.B. was also an amazing and stubborn grandpa to six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.J.B. was preceded in death by his wife, Ola Dee Jarvis, on June 29, 2009; his parents; one brother, Robert Jarvis and six sisters, Grace Johnson, Gwen Johnson, Violet Chaney, Linda Sue Parks, Betty Watkins andRuth Diaz. Visitation with the family was from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman.
