Funeral Arrangements Announced for DPS Sgt. Keesee

DPS Sgt. Keesee

 

    Services will begin Monday in Brownwood for Sgt. William “Karl” Keesee, 49, who died last week in the line of duty as the result of a traffic crash.

 

Visitation will be held Monday from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the Austin Avenue Church of Christ. (The church is located at 1020 Austin Avenue, Brownwood, TX 76801.)

 

The funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 3, at 1 p.m. at the Austin Avenue Church of Christ. Interment will follow at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. (The cemetery is located approximately 13 miles north of Brownwood on U.S. Highway183, then west on FM 2273 for half a mile.) 

 

“For 25 years, Sgt. Keesee bravely served the people of Texas with distinction and honor – and he will forever be a part of the DPS family,” said DPS Director Steven McCraw. “His service and sacrifice will never be forgotten, and our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones and friends during this difficult time.”

Keesee is survived by his wife, a daughter and a son. He joined DPS in 1990 and was stationed in Brownwood. He is the 217th DPS officer to die in the line of duty since 1837.
