RISING STAR – Christy Deanne Hughes,, 39, of Pasadena, died Thursday, July 30, 2015, while vacationing in New Braunfels. Funeral services wew scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Cisco with Rev. Don Kirklen officiating. Burial followed in the Romney Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation was from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at Chambers FuneralHome in Cisco. Services are under the direction of Bailey-Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. Christy was born September 19, 1975, in Fort Worth, to Danny and Josie Wende Hughes. She grew up in Rising Star and was a 1994 graduate of Rising Star High School. She graduated from the Universityof Texas, Austin, in December of 1998, and orked the last 15 years s a Pre-K teacher at TICE Elementary School. Christy, a life-long Lutheran,was a caring and loving friend. She enjoyed cooking, camping and traveling with Sean, and was beloved by the many students she taught. She had a wonderful sense of humor, loved everyone, was loved by everyone and will be dearly missed. Christy is survived by her parents, Danny and Josie Hughes of Rising Star; her longtime companion, Sean Metts of Pasadena;her brother, Stephen Hughes of Rising Star; her maternal grandfather, Edward Wende and wife Lola of Cisco; her Aunt Pat Frost and husband Rudy of Payson, Arizona; her ncle Dalton Hughes and wife Judi of Abilene; and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Lee and Wanda Hughes, and her maternal grandmother, Marilyn Miller. Memorial contributions can be made to Redeemer Childhood Learning Center, 1711 Conrad Hilton Avenue, Cisco, Texas 76437. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Pasadena, Texas.
