Bobby Jean (Tullos) Cooper Obituary
Bobbye Jean (Tullos) Cooper passed away May 22, 2016. She was born on June 8, 1929 in Cisco, Texas.
She went to Cisco High School while her boyfriend, Gordon Cooper, attended high school in a nearby town. Gordon loved to mention to Bobbye that he was chosen Homecoming King at his school
until Bobbye was chosen Homecoming Queen the next year at her school - obviously, a match made in Heaven! Gordon enrolled in University of Texas for college while Bobbye went west to Pepperdine.
Bobbye and Gordon were married in 1950 and lived in the Big Bend area… Marfa and Alpine until finally settling in Wichita Falls, Texas. They had a daughter, Kyle, in 1956. Then upon moving to Austin,
they had a daughter, Kelley, in 1961.
After her daughters were grown, she became the secretary at Saint Austin's Catholic school. She loved her job which provided her with happiness and fulfillment. Bobbye and Gordon loved traveling
in their later years - returning to their favorite Ireland many times. When Gordon became ill, Bobbye took over his care and kept him at home during a lengthy illness. She lost him after 62 years of marriage in 2012.
She was a long time member of the University Avenue Church of Christ.
Her family will miss her smile and love. She leaves behind her daughter, Kyle Wells and her husband, Bill and their two children, Andrew and Jonathan; her daughter, Kelley Cooper
McClure and her husband, Gary McClure.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 26th at Austin Memorial Park.
